Flamingo Gardens Education Department is not just about plants!
We have many types of field trip programs for students, campers and other groups.
Our programs grow right along with the 25,000 children visiting each year.
We offer a unique opportunity to observe and learn about trees, plants, birds, wildlife and nature using a hands-on approach in our beautiful South Florida environment.
It is our mission to foster
curiosity, appreciation and respect for Nature in children,
while they have fun discovering the world around them.
All field trips include a narrated tour by tram through the park, and
visits to the Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary
with native birds and Alligator, Flamingo, Bobcat and Panther Exhibits.

Wildlife
Encounter
The Wildlife Encounter &
Wildlife Encounter Plus
Two different ways to experience it! Both programs are designed to educate students about Florida wildlife and the environment, featuring birds of prey, reptiles and native mammals. The relationship between animals and their environment is emphasized along with discussions about habitats and current environmental issues effecting Florida's wildlife and what students can do to help. Children and animals have a natural affinity for each other. These programs use that interest to expand knowledge and motivate children to care about the environment.
