Botanical Gardens & EVERGLADES Wildlife Sanctuary

Entry is limited to 100 visitors per hour, with hourly time slots for entry from 10am-3pm; once in the garden visitors may stay as long as they like. ​​There is no special ticket for Harvest Festival, just select the festival day you wish to visit.

Harvest Festival (Covid Style!)

Weekends, October 3-25, 2020

9:30am - 4:00pm

​Celebrate the fall season at Flamingo Gardens with themed weekends featuring fun and socially distanced activities. This year will feature special themed photo opportunities with our live animal ambassadors and their companions, costumed characters, scarecrows and scavenger hunts each weekend to find the treasure.

Hayrides, pumpkin patch, bounce house and costume contests will be suspended this year due to Covid19 distancing requirements.

  • October 3 & 4 – The 11th Annual Great Scarecrow Competition. Scarecrows take over the arboretum for guests to vote on, along with scarecrow characters to meet and greet. Follow the clues to a fall surprise.  
  • October 10 & 11- Pirates & Princesses Weekend. Talk like a pirate and sing like a princess as live characters bring fairytales to life with meet & greets for guests to enjoy. Embark on a treasure hunt to find where x marks the spot!
  • October 17 & 18 - Superheroes & Villains Weekend. See your favorite superheroes and villains in action with live characters to meet & greet. Follow the map to find Flamingo Gardens very own superheroes. 
  • October 24 & 25- Creatures & Critters Weekend. Set the Halloween mood with a special scavenger hunt in the gardens to find spooky creatures & critters, along with costumed friends to meet & greet.

Due to covid capacity restrictions, online reserved tickets are required except for members and South Florida Adventure Pass holders.

11th Annual Great Scarecrow Contest

Entries due October 2, 2020

10am - 4pm

Flamingo Gardens is looking for your imaginative interpretation of the classic scarecrow for our 11th Annual Great Scarecrow Contest. Use your imagination to select a theme for your scarecrow. Your scarecrow can be whimsical, frightening, funny or sad, and will be placed in the gardens during the month of October.

This contest is free and open to the public. Each Entry will be given two passes to Flamingo Gardens to enjoy the Gardens and view their scarecrow. A total of $600 in cash and prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, People's Choice, Funniest, Most Creative, Most Artistic, and Best use of Recycled Materials.
