ESCAPADES IN THE EVERGLADES

VIRTUAL FIELD TRIPS

Flamingo Gardens Education Department offers students a variety of unique virtual field trips which can be adapted to all grade levels. Each Field trip consist of a lesson using power point and video, and an interactive animal encounter with one of the animals from our sanctuary and/or behind the scene video.


The lesson includes a Teacher Resource Packet containing material for teachers and students to use both pre- and post-field trip with activities which cover many related Language Arts and Science Standards. Chose from:


  • Birds of the Florida Everglades
  • Mammals of the Florida Everglades
  • Reptiles and Amphibians of the Florida Everglades
  • Florida Everglades Today: Ecosystems, Invasive Species, and Threats


Cost: 2 hour @ $250 per class (up to 20 students)
4 hour @ $450 per class (up to 20 students)

VIRTUAL STORY TIME
Flamingo Gardens Education Department offers students a variety of unique virtual early literacy programs. Each Story Time is an hour long and consist of a children's story related to the animal chosen, lessons using power point and video, a craft, and an interactive animal encounter with one of the animals from our sanctuary and/or behind the scene video. Choose from:


  • Flamboyant Flamingos 
  • Swamp Animals
  • ​Turtles & Tortoises
  • Picnic with a Bear
  • Wise Owls
  • ​Pelican Party
  • Rescuing the Roseate Spoonbill
  • Vulture Visit
  • Outrageous Otters
  • Alligator Appreciation
  • Guests in the Gator Hole
  • Hunting with Herons
  • Panther Preservation


Cost: 1 hour @ $150 per class (up to 20 students)
